Common RV roof problems we fix

RV roofs don’t usually fail all at once. They fail at the little details: a cracked bead of sealant, a loose vent, a seam that was never rechecked after a few seasons in the sun.

• Active leaks during or after rain
• Soft or “spongy” spots on the roof or ceiling
• Stains, yellowing, or bubbling on interior panels
• Cracked or missing lap sealant around vents and AC units
• Loose or damaged roof transitions and front/rear caps

Our RV roof inspection & repair process

1. Visual and moisture inspection

We start with a full roof walk and interior check, looking for visible intrusion points and using experience (and sometimes moisture tools) to find where water is actually getting in — not just where it shows up.

2. Identify failure points

We check all common leak zones: caps, seams, vents, skylights, antennas, AC openings, ladder mounts, and any screw penetrations.

3. Repair scope options

Often we can stop the damage with targeted repairs:

• Clean and re-seal failing seams with RV-grade sealant
• Replace failed vents, covers, or roof components
• Rebuild or reinforce small soft spots before they spread
• Document existing damage for insurance or resale

When does a roof need full replacement?

Some roofs are too far gone for spot repairs. Warning signs:

• Large areas of soft decking
• Membrane cracking, shrinking, or separating
• Extensive interior water damage already showing
• Multiple past “patch” jobs with incompatible sealants
